Link, or Toon Link, is the main character that the player controls. He starts off as an apprentice engineer, but Princess Zelda becomes suspicious of Chancellor Cole, causing her to ask Link for help getting to the Tower of Spirits.

Alfonzo, who had come with, watch as a storm gathers around the Towwer of Spirits. A dark pminous cloud appears above the tower and lets out a flash that makes the tower split into five pieces. Cole and Byrne then come and Cole reveals his true identity. He murders Princess Zelda in order to use her body to ressurect Malladus, the Demon King mentioned in the prologue. Her body is the only one suitable, as it contains the Sacred Power of the Spirits inside of it. Link then finds her spirit, who helps him gain a sword and get to the Tower of Spirits.

At the Tower, our hero and Zelda encouter Anjean, a Lokomo. She tells them they must go to the five temples in order to restore the tower and keep the energy flowing between the temples and the tower. To restore the tracks, they must recover the Rail Maps on the floors of the tower.

The pair head to the temples to restore the energy.

Theories[]

Some thories suggest that Link is mute, as he does not say much. This can easily be contradicted, though, with the fact that MOST video game characters do not say much. Also, in Spirit Tracks and a few other games, Link will say "yeah" or "okay" in some situations.
